A mass of Christian burial to honor the life of Rosie Leone Mondello will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, the 2nd of June 2012 at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Powhatan with Father Michael Manase and Father Antony Aelavanthara to serve as celebrants. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 12:30 before the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. Visitation will be at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home on Friday from 8 a.m until 4 p.m.
Mrs. Mondello, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, the 31st of May, at the Courtyard of Natchitoches to be with her Lord and Savior. She was long time active parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Powhatan. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all those who loved and cherished her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Mondello, Jr; her parents, Steve and Jennie Leone; her brothers, Sam Leone, John Leone and Dominick Leone.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Joseph Michael Mondello III, Stephen James Mondello, Mary Mondello Driscoll, Anthony Ray Mondello and Patrick Frank Mondello; her grandchildren, Joseph Michael Mondello IV, Melea Mondello Sandifer, Leslie Mondello, Kelly Mondello, Corey Mondello, Lauren Elizabeth Driscoll, Natalie Rose Driscoll, Joey Mondello; her great-grandchildren, Nicole, Landon, and Mikayla; her brothers, Joe and Tony Leone; her sisters, Mamie Jabbia, Laura Jabbia and Lorenza Fair; and a host of nieces, nephews and good friends.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Joseph Michael Mondello IV, Joey Mondello, Corey Mondello, Pete Leone, Sammy Leone and Wayne Moore.
