Helen Maricelli Bostick

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Helen Maricelli Bostick will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, the 16th of July 2012, in the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Natchitoches with Father John Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. Friends are invited to visitation on Sunday evening, the 15th of July, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Mrs. Bostick passed away Thursday evening, the 12th of July 2012, in her home in Natchitoches. Mrs. Bostick, born in Campti lived in Natchitoches most of her life. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s and attended Northwestern State University for two years. In 1949, she married J. O. “Rusty” Bostick who she met at Northwestern. They lived in Natchitoches until he was called back to serve in the Navy. They lived in Charleston, South Carolina and New Port, Rhode Island while in service. Mrs. Bostick retired from Louisiana Department of Health and Human Resources, in 1979 after 30 years of service, having worked as a stenographer, supervisor, and personnel manager. She was always helping others throughout her career and continued to do so after her retirement. She was very active in Les Amies, PTA, church work, and traveled with her husband Jaycee and work related conventions. She also enjoyed gardening, needle work, cooking, golf, and bridge. Her family and church were the great joys of her life. She was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She served in the steering committee for the restoration of her church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.O. “Rusty “ Bostick; her parents, Charles and Willie Eleanor Clark Maricelli; three sisters, Mary Eleanor Maricelli, Dorothy Colton and Cleo Wilson Briley; two brothers, Charles Maricell, Jr. and Frank Maricelli. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Bostick of Natchitoches; her son, Wayne Bostick and wife Lisa of Natchitoches; two grandchildren, David Wayne Bostick II and wife Megan of Dallas, Texas and Lindsey Bostick of Dallas, Texas; one great grandchild, David “Tripp” Wayne Bostick III; her cherished "grand" puppy Sampson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be David Wayne Bostick II, Bob Morrow, Bill Morrow, Jay Bankston, Michael Brame, and Tommy Melder. Honorary pallbearers will be L.J. Melder, Eddie Mahan, Richard Galloway, Anthony Culbert, and Harry Walker. In lieu of floral contributions, donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church Restoration Fund, St. Mary’s memorial fund, American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
