A Mass of Christian Burial for Alvin Metoyer, Jr. will be held at 10:30 am Friday, August 3, 2012 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Isle Brevelle, LA with Reverend Adam Travis officiating. Burial will follow at the Isle Brevelle Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis. The family will receive family and friends from 9:00 am until 10:00 am, with a Rosary Service at 10:00 in the Church Hall during visitation. There will be a re-pass after the service in the hall.
Alvin, 64, of Natchitoches, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012. He was born March 26, 1948 to the late Alvin B. Metoyer, Sr. and Vera Kate Metoyer in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. He was born and raised on Cane River, Louisiana and married and lived in California for a few years. Being a “Cane River” boy, he had to return and has lived here for almost 40 years. He was preceded in death by his brother Phillip Metoyer and his sister Edna Metoyer Narcisse.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 45 years Norma Ravare Metoyer; his daughter, Mylissa Metoyer Llorence; two grandchildren, Candace and Trey; his brother Vincent Metoyer (Mary); two sisters Elizabeth Metoyer Patterson (Edward) and Agnes Metoyer Bergerman (Philip), both of California; and son-in-law Henry Llorence, Jr. Others feeling this deep lost include his brother-in-laws; sister-in-laws; his many nieces and nephews along with a host of “honorary” kids he loved as his own and special friends.
