Walter James McCart, age 52, of Natchitoches, LA, died Saturday, October 20, 2007, in Natchitoches, LA. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday, October 22, 2007. The funeral service will be at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 23, 2007, with Rev. Larry Vaughn officiating. Interment will be at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA.
\Walter was born in San Diego, California on September 11, 1955. His family returned to Natchitoches while he was a young child, and he has lived here ever since. He was a member of the Boy Scouts when he was younger. He graduated from Natchitoches Academy in 1973, where he was voted most dependable, most likely to succeed, and class favorite. He also received an "Outstanding Senior" award and was the senior class president. He joined the Army after he graduated and was honorably discharged in 1978. He started in the family plumbing business after he was discharged. He was an avid hunter. He was a very outgoing man, and it is said he never met a stranger. He loved to help people, and was "famous for favors." He will be greatly missed by everyone his life touched.
He is the son of Eloise Landrum McCart and the late Othel McCart.
He is survived by his son, Jon McCart and wife Carmella Maggio McCart of Natchitoches, LA; two grandchildren, Garrett Lee McCart of Houston, TX and Mason Cecil McCart of Natchitoches, LA; two sisters, Frances Hargis and husband Andy of Natchitoches, LA, Patsy Broadway of Natchitoches, LA; one brother, Mike McCart of Natchitoches, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Keith Thompson, Charles Lacaze, Steve Peasant, Randy Williams, Randy Weaver, Ross Desadier, Steven Nix, Mike Guilliams and Kenny Alford - all of Natchitoches.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the employees of The Natchitoches Police Department and members of the Louisiana State Police from the Natchitoches area.
