Funeral service for Marguerite “Maggie” Gregory will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville, LA with Rev. Kenneth Obiekwe officiating. Interment will follow at Cloutierville Catholic Cemetery in Cloutierville, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a rosary being held at 7:00 pm on August 10, 2012 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Marguerite “Maggie” Gregory, 92 years of age, passed away August 8, 2012. Marguerite was born March 31, 1920 to the late John Poche and Angela Brevel Poche in Cloutierville, LA. Maggie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the central hub of her family, the one that held them all together. She was a hard worker, taking care of her family however she could, and also took time to hunt and fish when she could. She was a talented seamstress, making wedding dresses, quilts, and any other clothing that was needed. Maggie enjoyed writing; spending time with her family; playing pokeno, cards, and bingo; and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Mahr and husband Robert of Castlewood, VA and Mamie Bordelon and husband James of Cloutierville, LA; and two sons, Mike Gregory of Cloutierville, LA and Curtis Gregory of Cloutierville, LA; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Gregory; her parents John Poche and Angela Brevel Poche; three sisters, Edith Mahfouz, Elma Poche, and Lucille Ray; three brothers, Walter Pete Poche, Johnny Poche, and Newton Poche. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Bryan Beaudion, Victor Carlock, Greg Bordelon, Mickey Gregory, Wayne Ray, and Wilmer Spurgeon. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Spurgeon and Devin Spurgeon. Online condolences may be given at www.blanchardstdenisfuneralhome.com
