W.P. "Bill" O' Bannon, Jr.

A service to honor the life of William P. "Bill" O' Bannon, Jr. will be 2 pm Sunday, the 16th of September 2012 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches with Rev. Jimmy McDonald and Rev. Olan McLaren officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery in Flora, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Saturday, 15th of September 2012 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Bill, 74 years of age, passed away on Thursday, the 13th of September 2012 in Shreveport, LA. He was born on the 30th of December 1937 in Good Hope. He was a graduate of Flora High School and Northwestern State University with Bachelor Arts in Business. He was a self employed insurance claims adjuster for over 50 years. He was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie O’Bannon; his loving parents, William Proctor O’Bannon and Wilma O’Bannon; his sister, Odessa O’Bannon Cooper. Those left to cherish his memory his sons, Darren O’Bannon and Jillian of Missouri and DeWayne O’Bannon and Misty of Natchitoches; his daughter, Denise O’Bannon and Alfred; his grandchildren, Blane, Rachel, Olivia, Hanna, Fallon, Dawn and Austin; great nephew, Chris Cooper; and his companion, LaVerne Chambers and extended family Randy, Mickey and Raney. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Roger Cunningham, Edd Lee, Stuart Corder, Glen Alford, Randy Chambers and Charlie Greer. Honorary pallbearers will be Thad Longlois and Sam Salim. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Chris Ingram and Dr. Archie Breazeale.
