Funeral service for Thomas Theo Garcie will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Interment will follow at Fern Park Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on September 18, 2012 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Thomas Garcie, 61 years of age, passed away on September 16, 2012 at his home in Natchitoches.
Thomas was born to the late John Aubrey Garcie, Sr. and Eleanor LaCaze Garcie Dowden in Sulphur, LA on December 28, 1950. Thomas was an easy going and caring person. He was known as "Tommy" to his family and friends and "Paw-Paw" to his grandchildren. He was a hard worker, retiring from the city of Natchitoches after 20 years of service. "Tommy" loved his family more than anything else. He took care of his children and grandchildren, and dedicated his life to caring for them. He was truly a patriot, serving his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He loved people, and would help anyone in need. "Tommy" was truly a great man, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was survived by one daughter, Marty Garcie of Natchitoches, LA; his mother, Eleanor LaCaze Garcie Dowden; two grandchildren, Tiffany Garcie of Natchitoches and Caiden Garcie of Natchitohces; one great grandchild, Emorie Medlock of Natchitoches, LA; two sisters, Marylynn Johnson of Port Arthur, TX and Star Hamous and husband Juddy of Robeline, LA; three brothers, Gary Dean Garcie and wife Juanita of Natchitoches, Aubrey Garcie Jr. of Natchitoches, and Marvin Owen Garcie and wife Nancy of Bossier City, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Aubrey Garcie, Sr. and his son, Travis Garcie.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Garcie, Cain Hamous, Juddy Hamous, Shane Garcie, Scotty Hicks, and Harry Garsee.
