R. D. Rushing

Funeral service for R. D. 'Monk' Rushing will be held 10 AM Monday, November 26, 2007 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Ron Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorne Cemetery at Ashland, La. Visitation will be Sunday, November 25, 2007 from 5 PM until 9 PM and on Monday, November 26, 2006 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home. Mr. Rushing, 81, of Natchitoches, La., died Friday, November 23, 2007, at Dubois Hospital in Shreveport, La. He was a native of Ashland, La. He was retired from Natchitoches Parish School Board. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Rushing; an infant daughter; parents, Dewey Rushing and Gladys Lay Rushing; brother, Murray Rushing. He is survived by his wife, Margie E. Dowden Rushing of Natchitoches, LA sons, Reginald Longlois of Many, LA, Gerald Longlois of Natchitoches, LA, Kenneth Dowden of Marthaville, LA, and Bobby Joe Jennings of Natchitoches, LA; daughters, Barbara Aulds of Provencal, LA and Bobbie Lynn Deloney of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Rennie Clifton, Cory Clifton, Christi Longlois, Geneva Marney, Joseph Longlois, Rachel Longlois, Abigail LaCour, Billy LaCour, Tina Fox, Alaina Glover, Angela Cobb, Stacie Roberson, Emily Broadway, and Kim Dowden; eight great grandchildren; brother, Robert Rushing of Houston, TX; sister, Patty Coffey of Natchitoches, LA Pallbearers will be Kenneth Dowden, Tommy Coffey, Jimmy Coffey, Billy LaCour, Christi Longlois, and Kerry Aulds.
