A service to honor the life of Reverend Arthur Haymon will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, the 29th of September 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Natchitoches with Reverend Tommy Rush, Jerry Penfield, Lee Dickson, and George Truetline to officiate. Burial will follow in Fort Jesup Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday evening at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches.
Rev. Haymon, age 89, of Natchitoches passed away on Tuesday, the 25th of September 2012 in Natchitoches. He was a veteran of the army serving under General Patton in WW2. Rev. Haymon loved doing God's work serving as a minister for 66 years in churches in Vernon, Sabine, and Natchitoches Parishes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Ernestine Haymon; his brothers, Elijah, Noah, Floyd, Oscar, and Albert Haymon; his sister, Gracie Herring; his three young siblings; and his grandson Joshua.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Brown Haymon of Natchitoches; his children, Jimmy Haymon and wife Susie of Baton Rouge, Jon Haymon and wife Rhonda of Pineville, Ruth Robertson and husband Danny of Natchitoches; his grandchildren, Bryan Haymon and wife Tammy, Virginia Haymon, Jason Haymon, Christopher Haymon and wife Lydia all of Baton Rouge, Kim Haymon and friend Vickie Cruz of Fort Worth, Texas, Jessica Moore and husband Robert of Arcadia, Jacob Haymon and wife Millie of Ruston, Trent Haymon of New Orleans, Payton Harris and wife Tracey of Denver, Colorado, Jed Harris of Shreveport, Bethany Rush and husband Craig of Richardson, Texas, Dan Robertson and wife Shannon of Keithville, Jordan Harris and Anna Catherine Robertson both of Natchitoches; his great grandchildren, Erin and husband Jeremy Wilson, Randi, Chelsea, Jace and husband Josh Strahan, Anthony, Brennan, Jude, Lewis, Elizabeth, Sam, Birdie, Cady, Keri, and Elliott; his three great great grandchildren, Kaylee, Blakely, and Karson; his brother, Rev. Huey Haymon of Anacoco; his sister, Lela Herrington of Leesville; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Those honored to be pallbearers will be his grandsons, Bryan, Jason, Chris, Jacob, Trent, Payton, Jed, Jordan, and Dan.
