Elizabeth Crawford Keys

Elizabeth Joyce Crawford Keys, age 88, of Natchitoches, LA, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2007, at Christus Schumpert Highland in Shreveport, LA. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 27, 2007. The funeral service will be at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 28, 2007 , with Mrs. Keys grand-nephew, Benny Vaughan, officiating. Interment will be at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. Mrs. Keys was born on November 3, 1919 in Belcher, LA. She married Robert Ralph Keys in 1939 and moved to Natchitoches in 1945 and remained there until her death. She enjoyed raising roses in her flower garden and taking care of her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years; her parents, Monroe Henderson Crawford and Margaret Crawford; four brothers, Glenn Crawford, Monroe Crawford, Marshall Crawford, and Jake Crawford; and three sisters, Lida Griffith, Lucille Dordan, and Margaret Yopp. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gugliuzza of Shreveport, LA, two sons, James R. Keys and wife Marilyn of Gonzales, LA and Thomas M. Keys and wife Patty of Stillwater, OK; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Matthew Keys, Scott Keys, Chris Keys, Rodney Michels, Bradley Alexander, and Dan Johnson. The family requests that any donations to be made go to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 3100 Samford Ave, Shreveport, LA 71103.
