Catherine Niette

Catherine O'Con Niette, age 103, of Natchitoches, LA, died Saturday, December 1, 2007, at Natchitoches Nursing and Rehabilitation in Natchitoches, LA. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday, December 3, 2007. A rosary service will be held at 6:00 PM during the visitation. The funeral service will be at St. Anne Catholic Church in Spanish Lake at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 4, 2007 , with Rev. Antony Aelavanthara officiating. Interment will be at St. Anne Cemetery in Spanish Lake, LA. Mrs Catherine was born on October 15, 1904. She was raised in the Robeline/Spanish Lake Community. She was raised on a farm, and raised her family on a farm. She was a hard worker, wonderful mother, and grandmother. She provided all of the needs of her family, and especially her husband in his latter years. In 1945 she and her husband moved their family to Natchitoches. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jack Niette; one son, Ivy Niette, and her parents, Abram O'Con and Catherine Sanchez O'Con. She is survived by four daughters, Ina Ruth Pleasant of Robeline, LA, Elvina Suehs and husband Harry of Bryan, TX, Gearldine French of Provencal, LA, and Mary Oxley and husband Kenneth of Robeline, LA; three sons, L.C. Niette of Natchitoches, LA, William Niette and wife Jewell of Robeline, LA, and Earl Niette and wife Jeanette of Natchitoches, LA; fourty one grandchildren; eighty five great-grandchildren; forty two great-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Odell O'Con of Richmond, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
