Mae Belle O'Bannon

A service to celebrate the life of Mae Belle O’Bannon will be 2 pm Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Provencal with Bro. Bruce Mitchell, Bro. Paul Grace, Bro. Buddy Boswell and Bro. Tommy Haley officiating. Interment will follow at Provencal Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm Monday, October 8th until time of service on Tuesday at the church. Mrs. O’Bannon, 91 years of age, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 in Provencal. She was born July 20, 1921 to the late Enoch & Lucrecy (Harrison) Cobb in the Harmony Community. She married Ruffin O’Bannon on April 10, 1937. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind her sons, W.E. O’Bannon and his wife Mary of Provencal and Eddie O’Bannon and his wife Beverly of Pineville, LA; daughters, Gwen “Tootie” Davis and her husband Larry of Provencal, Ann Pitts of Provencal, and Dianne O’Bannon of Provencal; son-in-law, Bobby Broadway; sister-in-law, Ella Rhodes; brother-in-law, Willie O’Bannon and his wife Betty; and special friends, Mary and Wanel Brister. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren, Mike, Deb, Carolyn, Randy, Earl Wayne, Jerry, Bruce, Janette, Glen, Tim, Trent, Bubba, Tammy, Kim, Russ, Richard, Tonya and Shane; 35 great grandchildren, Michael Paul, Boo-Boo, Charlene, Bubba, Daniel, Ashley, Lacie, Terri, Dustin, Megan, Trevor, Jessica, Elizabeth, Rebecca, William, Matthew, Marcus, Josh, Garret, Kaitlyn, Heather, Logan, Brittany, Haley, Austin, Taylor, Dylan, Bailey, Natalie, Mason, Briley, Cameron, Turner and Bella; 20 great-great grandchildren, Bailey, Paige, Memphis, Lauren, Parker, Paisley, Audie Ann, Trey, Noah, Avery, Aubree, Natalie, Easten, Kellon, Micah, Brooklyn, Harper, Grayson, Sawyer, Emri Kate, and Lexi. She was preceded in death by her husband Ruff O’Bannon; parents, Enoch and Lucrecy Cobb; daughter, Audra Mae “Sudie” Broadway; brothers, Coleman Cobb, Willie Cobb and Dee Cobb; sister, Ola Cobb; and great grandson, Terry Broadway. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include her great grandsons, Michael Paul, David, Josh, Austin, Daniel, Bubba, Michael and Cody. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Mike, Randy, Earl Wayne, Jerry, Bruce, Glen, Tim, Trent, Bubba, Russ, Richard and Shane. The family would like to thank Dr. Otis Barnum and his staff, Dr. Dennis Britten, Harmony Home Health and Hospice of Natchitoches for the care given to our Mom.
