Dorothy Mae Roy Adams, age 77, of Many, LA, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2008, at Sabine Medical Center in Many, LA. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. The visitation will be held at the Hickory Grove Congregation Methodist Church in Robeline, LA at 6:30 PM and will last all night until service time, Monday, January 7, 2008. The funeral service will be at Hickory Grove Congregational Methodist Church at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 8, 2008, with Rev. Tony Moran officiating. Interment will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Natchez, LA.
Mrs. Dorothy was a very kind and compassionate lady. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to cook, she was an animal lover, and she loved to raise flowers. Her family always came first in her life, and if anyone needed a helping hand, she was always there.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Levy Roy and Laura Vercher Roy; two brothers, Henry Roy and Leo Roy; and one sister, Isabell Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Shree Shoemaker and husband James of Many, LA; one son, Will Oren Adams, Jr. of Many, LA; two grandchildren, Meghin Shoemaker of Many, LA and Jay Shoemaker of Many, LA; two sisters, Farris Creel and husband Julian of Natchitoches, LA and Mamie Haley of Provencal, LA; and two special friends, Gail Procell of Robeline, LA and Joann Robertson of Robeline, LA.
Pallbearers will be Mike Robertson, David Tyler, Jay Shoemaker, T.J. Moran, Wilmer “Gabby” Procell, and Glenn Shoemaker.
