Earl Metoyer, Sr.

Funeral service for Earl Metoyer, Sr. will be held 11 AM Saturday, January 12, 2008 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Rev. Jacob Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Mausoleum at Isle Brevelle, La. Visitation will be Saturday, January 12, 2008 from 9 AM until 11 AM with a Rosary at 10 AM in the church hall. Mr. Metoyer, 85, of Cane River, La., died Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches, LA. He was a native and lifelong resident of Cane River, LA. He was a retired school bus driver for Natchitoches Parish School Board and farmer. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He was a former member of Knights Of Peter Claver and the St. Augustine Parish Council. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paskal Metoyer and Stella Jones Metoyer; two brothers, Guster Metoyer and James Metoyer; four sisters, Stella Metoyer, Lalie Metoyer, Leona Christophe, Leatta Conant. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Christophe Metoyer of Cane River, La.; two daughters, Anita Metoyer Evans and husband Ronnie of Natchitoches, LA and Debra Metoyer and husband Glenn of Garland, TX; four sons, Earl Metoyer, Jr. of Cane River, LA, James Metoyer and wife Mary Ann of Houston, TX, Kenneth Metoyer, Sr. and wife Eydie of Cane River, LA, and Gregory W. Metoyer and wife Antoinette of Cypress, TX; nine grandchildren, Darius Metoyer and wife Monica, Duane Metoyer, Melinda Coker and husband Brian, Kristen Metoyer and husband Sonny, Michael Metoyer and wife Dominique, Jared Evans, Brooke Evans, Monique Metoyer, and Glenn Metoyer, II; two great grandchildren Darrien Metoyer and Darius Metoyer, II. Pallbearers will be Darius Metoyer, Duane Metoyer, Michael Metoyer, Jared Evans, Ricky Christophe, and Joseph Christophe. Cross bearer will be Wilfred Metoyer.
