Karen Cedars

Karen Sue Rhoden Cedars, age 55, of Gorum, LA, died Friday, January 11, 2008, at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Sunday, January 13, 2008. The funeral service will be at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Monday, January 14, 2008. Interment will be at Gorum Cemetery in Gorum, LA. Mrs Karen was a very fun loving person. She loved to cook out, go dancing, and simply have fun with her family and friends. She was a very friendly person, and loving mother, and a loving grandmother. She was the daughter of the late Marshall Rhoden and Geraldine Irby Rhoden. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Andy Cedars, Jr. She is survived by her one daughter, Amy Collard and husband Robert of Gorum, LA; one son, Paul Cedars of Gorum, LA; two step-sons; James Lynn Cedars and wife Laura and Robert Steven Cedars and wife Brenda; two grandchildren, Brian Collard and Brad Collard; two brothers, Richard Rhoden and wife Adela of Jacksonville, FL and Thomas Rhoden and wife Alice of Texas City, TX; and one sister-in-law, Ethelene Troquille of Beaumont, TX. Pallbearers will be Clyde Troquille, Clayton Troquille, Paul Cedars, Jimbo Cedars, Andrew Golden, and Bucky Kerry.
