Doyle Wayne Withers, age 64, of Natchitoches, La., passed away shortly before his 65th birthday on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, in Natchitoches, La. The family will receive friends at 5:00 PM Friday, January 25, 2008 at the Rocky Mount Congregational Methodist Church and will last until 10:00 pm. Funeral services will be at Rocky Mount Congregational Methodist Church at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 26, 2008, with Rev. Barney Barnhill and Rev. Kevin Dyess officiating. Interment will be at Rocky Mount cemetery in Robeline, La.
Mr. Doyle was a tough, tender hearted, true working cowboy. He was an animal lover, he was fun to be around, and he was a true friend. He was a good father, grandfather, and father-in-law. He led by example, and was true to the core. He was a member of Shamrock Emmanel Gospel Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, I. W. “Cotton” Withers and Hattie Mearl Withers; and one special nephew, Paul David Behan.
He is survived by his four daughters, Tonya French of Natchitoches, La., Cheryl Withers of Robeline, La., Kelly Weeks and husband Cole of Natchitoches, La., and Anna Withers of Natchitoches, LA; one step-daughter, Kathy Weeks and husband Arlin of Natchitoches, La.; one step-son, Zackary Cole of Farmerville, La.; five grandchildren, Eric French and wife Meagan, Sarah French, Jennifer Berry, Andrew Withers, and Aidan Weeks; three sisters, Maxine Slater and husband Buddy of Natchitoches, La., Shirley Isgitt and husband Eddie of Hemphill, Texas, and Paula Behan and husband Bobby of Robeline, La.; one brother, David Withers of Robeline, La.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Withers, Jamie Withers, Shaun Isgitt, Brandon Isgitt, Blane Foshee, Scott Foshee, Jeff Foshee, and Scott French.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Behan, Marcus Behan, Waylon Isgitt, and Chris Hardy.
The family would like to thank Doctor Granger, Doctor Pearce, and the floor, ICU, and surgery nurses at Rapides Regional Hospital for going above and beyond their duties in the care that they gave to Mr. Doyle. They would also like to thank Dr.’s Hogg and Ingram, his family doctors, for caring for him before his surgery.
