Justin Lane Wilson was born the 13th of June 1990 to Mary Lorraine Honeycutt and Anthony Lane Wilson of Provencal. He joined a sister Mary Elizabeth. Justin was a happy and loving child. Early on, he learned to hunt and fish, becoming very good at both. As a young teen, after killing his first duck, his Grandpa Clayton Honeycutt teased him about the duck being so small, earning Justin the nickname of “pulldoo”.
Also as a teenager Justin learned to play the guitar. His happiest times were playing with relatives and area musicians at Floyd Breedlove’s shop. His favorite performer was the late Johnny Cash. He played an instrumental medley of Johnny’s tunes that he called “Riding with Cash”. Then Justin wrote a comedy song about he and Papaw Clayton being chased up a tree by a bear, and Mamaw Jo shooting the bear. He also accompanied his mother Lorri when she sang.
Justin was a carpenter working with his Uncle Harold Pitts for several years. He also worked with his father in his tree service. This year he started his own lawn mowing service with the help of his sister and brother-in-law, Brandon Blackmon. He had customers all over Provencal and around the area. He was the type of person who enjoyed helping everyone – whether mechanic work, carpentry, lawn mower repair, or cutting firewood. Justin would always tell his family and friends when he would leave to go somewhere “Call me if you need anything.” He had his share of misfortunes, losing an eye in an accident and developing psoriasis- but he never lost his cheerful demeanor or positive outlook.
Justin enjoyed playing with his nephew Caden and niece Taylor. He had many friends in the area and was much beloved. His grandfather Clayton Honeycutt and Uncle Stacy Luke Honeycutt had preceded him in death. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his mother, Lorri and Don Knight; his father, Lane Wilson and wife Liz; his Uncle and Aunt Cody and Terri Honeycutt; his sister, Mary Beth Blackmon and husband Brandon and their children: Caden and Taylor; Maternal grandmother, Jo Honeycutt; paternal grandparents, Allie and John Wilson; Uncles, Harold, James and Wyatt Wilson; great Uncle, Danny Dison and great Aunt Kathy Pitts; and many other relatives and friends. He was only here for a little while, but our lives are much richer because of him.
