Funeral service for Lucille Byrd Dean will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, February 2, 2008 in New Cedron Baptist Church with Rev. David Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in New Cedron Cemetery at Vowells Mill, LA under the directions of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches, LA. Visitation will be Friday, February 1, 2008, from 5 PM until service time on Saturday, February 2, 2008 in the church. Mrs. Dean, 85, of Coldspring, Texas, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Cleveland, Texas She was a native of Vowells Mill, LA. She was a retired elementary school teacher for Pasadena School District in Pasadena, TX. She was a member of New Cedron Baptist Church at Vowells Mill, LA. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Ralph Dean; parents, George Washington Byrd and Arva Zena Knippers Byrd; one brother, Grover E. Byrd. She is survived by three sons, Gary Dean and wife Glenda of Shepherd, TX, Richard Dean and wife Leslie of Beaumont, TX, and Keith Dean and wife Kem of Spring Hill, TN; four grandchildren, Brent Dean and wife Jennifer of Shepherd, TX, Jennifer Mestayer and husband Scott of Cypress, TX, Jared Dean of Durham, NC, and Kellie Dean of Spring Hill, TN; three great grandchildren, Amelia Dean, Jacob Dean, and Drew Mestayer; one sister, Linda Lou Byrd of Shreveport, LA. Pallbearers will be Brent Dean, Jared Dean, Scott Mesatyer, Michael Williams, Gary Dean, Keith Dean, and Rick Dean.
