Winnie Mae Whitney Waddle

Funeral service for Winnie Mae Waddle will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Dr. Dwight St. Andre and Dr. Mike Honzell officiating. Interment will follow at L.C. Weaver Cemetery in Campti, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 7 pm on December 15, 2012 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Winnie Waddle, 92 years of age, passed away December 12, 2012. Winnie was born September 27, 1920 to the late Levi Calhoun Whitney and Mary Jones Whitney in Faulk, AR. Winnie was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She was married 56 years to Willie Waddle, and together they raised four children and helped with the eight grandchildren. She worked for 25 years for the Natchitoches Parish Hospital, while also taking care of her family and home. She attended Campti Baptist Church until the new United Baptist Chruch was built, of which she was a charter member. She lived her last 6 years at the Natchitoches Nursing and Rehabilitation at her request. She was the "Bell Cow" until the end. Winnie was strong willed, family oriented, and had a very strong work ethic. She was deeply loved by all of her family, and will be dearly missed. She leaves behind her children, Jeanette McDonald and husband Joe of Shreveport, LA, Doyle Waddle and wife Barbara of Campti, LA, Carol Gallien and husband Jerry of Campti, LA, and daughter-in-law, Patti Waddle of Natchitoches, LA; eight grandchildren, Janice Moore and husband Glen Moore of Waco, Janet Melancon of Shreveport, Robbie Waddle and wife Lara of Summerfield, Keith Waddle and wife Jennifer of Shreveport, Thomas Waddle and wife Amy of Conroe, Marci Waddle of Natchitohces, Melissa Waters and husband Richard of Campti, and Kevin Gallien and wife Stacey of Covington; and fourteen great grandchildren, Emily, Wesley, Zeffery, Jason, Sadie, Janay, Janelle, Jacey, Ty, Blake, Kaylee, Dylan, Will, and Brooke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lindsey Waddle, who passed away in March of 1992; her son, Roy Lynn Waddle, who passed away November of 2009; and her parents, Levi Calhoun Whitney and Mary Jones Whitney. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Janet Melancon, Janice Moore, Robbie Waddle, Keith Waddle, Melissa Waters, Kevin Gallien, Marci Waddle, and Thomas Waddle.
