A service to honor the life of Mrs. Lillie McDermitt will be 12 noon on Thursday, December 20, 2012 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Colfax Cemetery in Colfax, LA. The family will receive friends from 9 am until service time on Thursday the 20th at Blanchard St. Denis.
Mrs. McDermitt passed away on Tuesday, December 18th at the Colfax Reunion Nursing Home. Mrs. Lillie, as everyone knew her, was 89 years old. She was a resident of Colfax for the last 22 years and before then a resident of Baton Rouge, where her and her husband owned a restaurant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Evalena Lemoine; sisters, Adeline Perkins Sharboneaux, Myrtie Bookout, Artie DuBois and Mable Thompson; brothers, Charlie Lemoine, Jr., Theophile Lemoine, Joe Lemoine and J. W. Lemoine; two sons, Huey DuBois and Lynn DuBois.
Mrs. Lillie leaves behind one son, Leslie “Sonny” DuBois and his wife Sarah; 9 grandchildren, Todd DuBois, Tonya DuBois, Tina Sander and her husband Ronald, Natasha Dubois, Thomas Dubois, Donna Perot and her husband Chuck, Stoney DuBois, Scotty DuBois and Gregg DuBois. She was blessed with 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as palbearers will be Todd DuBois, Stoney DuBois, Scotty DuBois, Gregg DuBois, Ronald Sander and Thomas Keith DuBois.
