Funeral service for V. Kenneth Dutile will be held 11 AM Thursday, February 7, 2008, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at Natchitoches, LA with Bishop Matthew DeFord officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 6, 2008, from 5 PM until 9 PM in Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home and on Thursday, February 7, 2008, from 10 AM until service time in the Church.
Mr. Dutile, 66, of Natchitoches, LA, passed away Monday, February 4, 2008, at Christus Schumpert Highland in Shreveport, LA after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on August 29, 1941, in Natchitoches, LA to Vernon and Ruby Beason Dutile. He was a dedicated educator for 33 years prior to his retirement. During his tenure he was a teacher, principal, personnel director and superintendent for Natchitoches Parish School Board. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Lattter-Day Saints, he was a former Bishop and Stake President. He currently was serving as Temple President with his wife at the Baton Rouge Louisiana Temple.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty Grappe Dutile of Natchitoches, LA; one daughter, Tina Drye and husband Stephen of Granger, IN; one son, Eric Dutile and wife Tatum of Pineville, LA; two grandchildren, Christopher Drye and Claire Drye; one sister, Brenda Dutile of Natchitoches, LA.
