Funeral services for Ermadell Tate will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, the 11th of January 2013 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Natchitoches with Reverend James McDonald to serve as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Calvary Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches.
Mrs. Tate, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, the 8th of January 2013 at the Louisiana Extended Care Hospital in Natchitoches. She was born on the 15th of April 1934 in Colfax to James and Eunice Buffer. She was a homemaker and loved working in her garden.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Tate; her parents, James and Eunice Buffer; her brother, Calvin Buffer; her sisters, Esther Ammons, Marie Clemons, Betty Hernandez, Agnes Antilley;; and her son, Howard Tate.
She is survived by her children, David Tate, Betty Hopkins, Kathy Tate Davis and Glen Tate; her brother, Raymond Buffer; her sister, Lowena Lusby; her 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be John Clyde Davis, Jonathan Scribner, Cullen Graham, Jr., Keith Johnson, Leslie Hathorn, and Eddie Collins.
Honorary pallbearer will be Nile Parchim, Jr. and John Ammons.
In lieu of floral contributions, the family requests that donations in Mrs. Tate’s name be made to the Hospice of Natchitoches.
