Funeral Services for Opal Laverne Lachney will be 10 a.m. on Friday, the 11th of January 2013 in the Chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches with the Reverend Kathy Muder to serve as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Weaver Cemetery in Flora. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Mrs. Lachney, age 79 of Flora, passed away on Tuesday, the 8th of January 2013 in Alexandria. She was born on the 20th of January 1933 to Jasper and Magdeline Williams in Pleasant Hill. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Magdeline Williams; her son, Clurry Joseph Lachney, Jr.; her great grandchild, Gattlin Isgitt; her sister, Ozie Randall; and her brother Oscar Williams. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Clurry Joseph Lachney, Sr. of Flora; her son, Pete Lachney and wife Charlene “Peanut” of Flora; her daughters, Clara Delacerda and husband James of Natchitoches and Connie Guy and husband Joseph of Natchitoches; her grandchildren, Waymond Dale, Jr., Rebecca Ann Delacerda, Timmy Dale, Leann Chamblee, Larenda Isgitt, Craig Lachney, Jr., Michelle Williams, Kristal Lachney and James Aron Delacerda; her great grandchildren, Shea, Kaylie, Anna, Camron, Abigail, Kyla, Addyson, Ava, and Paislee; her brother, J. D. Williams and wife, Wanda of Alexandria, LA and many good friends. Pallbearers will Bryan Lemoine, Chris Chamblee and her grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
