Rosie Jones Herrington

Rosie Elmedia Jones Herrington, age 92, of Robeline, La., passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at Life Care Hospital in Shreveport, La. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, February 15, 2008. The funeral service will be at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 16, 2008, with Rev. Shane Byrd and Rev. Ron Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Beulah Cemetery in Marthaville, La. Mrs. Rosie loved her family, who greatly loved her in return. She was a very honest and Christian person. She loved to cook, sing, and crochet. She was a hard worker all of her life. She was a very helpful, humorous, and friendly person. She will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Solomon Shirah and Nellie Hammons Shirah; two husbands, Luther Jones and Buford Herrington; three sons, Gene Jones, Brackford Jones, and Milton Jones; and two grandchildren, Steve Jones and Darlene Jones. She is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Lauw of Keithville, La., Della Dueitt of Keithville, La., and Debby Cagle and husband Waynne of Robeline, La.; three sons, Robert Jones and wife Bettie of Keithville, La., Luke Jones and wife Charlotte of Northport, Al., and Devon Jones of Keithville, La.; thirty one grandchildren; eighty-three great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Alene Shirah of Slidell, La.
