Ruby Bates

Ruby Breedlove Bates, age 87, of Provencal, La., passed away Monday, February 18, 2008, at the hospital in Natchitoches, La. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, La. A grave side service will be held at Provencal Cemetery at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 19, 2008, with Rev. Cecil Boswell officiating. Interment will be at Provencal Cemetery in Provencal, La. Mrs Ruby was a lifelong native of Provencal, La. She loved to garden, fish, and talk on the phone. She especially loved to raise roses. She was a great mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Arnold Bates; and her parents, Alex Breedlove and Lula Jordan Breedlove. She is survived by her one daughter, Diane Massey and husband Roy of Provencal, La.; one son, Floyd Breedlove and wife Jean of Provencal, La.; six grandchildren, Kayla Mathis and husband Danny of Provencal, La., Holly Mitchell of Provencal, La., Darrell Breedlove and wife Dana of Provencal, La., Theresa Thompson and husband Jimmy of Provencal, La., Yvonne Upchurch and husband Carl of Provencal, La., and Patricia Givens and husband Joe of Provencal, La.; and fourteen great grandchildren.
