Funeral services for June Mary Giddens Stiefvater will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, the 5th of February, 2013, in the Chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, in Natchitoches, with Pastor Ellis Newman to serve as celebrant. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Mrs. June, age 70, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Saturday, the 2nd of February 2013 in the Natchitoches Community Care Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Catherine Giddens; father-in-law, Herbert Stiefvater; and step-father-in-law, Rufus “Joe” White. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert “Bob” Stiefvater; her son and daughter-in-law Robert “Joey” and Teresa Stiefvater; her daughter and son-in-law Diana and Max Stoker; grandsons, Garritt Stoker and Corey Stiefvater; granddaughters, Christin and Emma Stiefvater, Karlie and Cameron Stoker; mother -in- law Helen “Louise” White; one brother, David Giddens and wife Diane of Marquette, MI; and two twin sisters, Kathy Giddens and Karen Giddens of Bandon, OR; and a host of family and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Natchitoches Community Care Center and to the staff of Hospice of Natchitoches for all of their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to an organization that was very special to Mrs. June, The Women’s Resource Center of Natchitoches.
