Graveside service for Melba Page Palmer will be held 1 PM, Thursday, February 28, 2008 in Weaver Cemetery, with military honors, at Flora, La. with Dr. Roy Cook officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 10 AM until 12:30 PM in Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Mrs. Palmer, 73, of Merritt Island, Fla., died Saturday, February 23, 2008, in her residence at Merritt Island, Fla. She was a native and former resident of Flora, La. She was a retired registered nurse at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. She was the first director of Natchitoches Dialysis Center. She was a veteran of Korean Conflict serving in the U. S. Army achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant. She was preceded in death by her parents, David Thomas Page and Margaret Custis Page. She is survived by two sons, David Palmer of Titusville, Fl. and John Palmer and wife Wanda of Mandeville, La.; two grandchildren, Savannah Page Palmer of Titusville, Fl. and Sara Katherine Fernandez of Manderville, La.; one sister, Victoria Page Middleton and husband Al of Metairie, La. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Breast Cancer Society or to the charity of the donors choice.
