Hazel Carroll, 83 years of age, passed away February 14, 2013. Hazel was born January 11, 1930 to the late Cully Jacobs and Ollie Johnson Jacobs in Pleasant Hill, LA. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren more than life itself. She always gave them everything she could possibly give them, and she did so unselfishly. One of her greatest joys in her life was hearing her daughter sing and play the piano. She also enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren every moment possible and attending her church. She loved everyone deeply and her greatest wish was to be able to get back to her church home when she recovered, for she loved her Lord and Savior.
She loved to make her famous chicken and dressing and crab dip for every church occasion. She enjoyed driving her school bus for almost 30 years and she enjoyed taking care of her customers in the jewelry department at Wal-Mart, where she worked for 20 years. She enjoyed talking on the phone to her dear friends and relatives, and everyone who knew Hazel knew how much she loved to dress up wherever she went. She was always beautiful and classy, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Pete Carroll; and her parents, Cully and Ollie Jacobs.
She is survived by her two children, Jackie Carroll-Zulick and husband Richard of Shreveport, LA and Kent Wade Carroll and wife Batty of Marthaville, LA; Her grandchildren, Jacob and Jace Tobias, and their father Harvey Tobias who is still a part of our family, Misty O'Bannon, and Joshua Scott; and her great grandchildren, Kenzie and Matthew Scott, and Fallon and Dawn O'Bannon.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Bubba Roe, Jody Woodard, Charles Davis, Dennis Salley, Richard Bruce, Danny Hall, Keith Birdwell, and John Vercher.
Even though our hearts are broken we will see her again when we join her in Heaven.
