A service to honor the life of Dr. Thomas Edward “Eddie” White, II will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, the 12th of March 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Natchitoches with Carl Hudson, Thomas Rush, and Helen Antilley officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Monday evening at the First Baptist Church of Natchitoches.
Thomas Edward White, Jr., DVM was born in Alexandria, LA on February 2, 1939. He lived in Tioga until he was 12, when his mother moved to Shreveport. He graduated from C. E. Byrd in 1957. Eddie then became a Texas Aggie for life. He was in the Corps of Cadets while at A&M. He was the president of his graduating veterinary class in August of 1964. He then moved to Natchitoches the day after graduation with his wife Linda and two children. He served 49 years for the dedicated care of all types of animals. He also had a successful “Brood Mare” practice in Coushatta.
Eddie was an active member of the First Baptist Church, serving as Sunday school teacher, deacon and served on many committees. He strived to live the life that God would want him to live. He was the owner of Natchitoches Animal Hospital. His memberships included the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Assoc., the American Veterinary Medical Assoc. and American Association of Equine Practitioners as well as being a fervent supporter of the Natchitoches Humane Society, Hope for Paws and the Women’s Resource Center.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents of Beckville, TX; his father, Thomas Edward White, Sr., his mother, Lila M. Efurd, and his brother, Fred Eugene White.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Graves White; his children, Thomas and Sara White of New York, NY, Kim and John Lohrengel of Dallas, TX, David Boyd and Kate White of Natchitoches, Amy and John Howell of Natchitoches; grandchildren, Justin, Brooke, Dillon, Gretchen and Kathryn White all of Natchitoches; Aubrey, Stanton, and Kirby Lohrengel of Dallas; Aaron and Thomas Howell of Natchitoches, Shelby, Dane and Jett Steadman all of Natchitoches; his brother and sister in law, Cope and Lou Graves and their children; April and Matthew of Chelsea, AL.
He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to hunt and fish. More importantly, he taught them the love of God and how to treat people with respect and kindness.
Eddie will be sadly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. We love you!

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and granddaughters, Justin White, Brooke White, Dillon White, Gretchen White, Kathryn White, Aubrey, Stanton, Kirby Lohrengel, Aaron Howell, Thomas Howell, Dane Steadman, Jett Steadman, and Shelby Steadman as well as his special Aggie classmates and their spouses, Frank and Anne Fitzgerald, Edward and Phyllis Todd, Patricia Weldon, Jerry Hampton, and Ned and Wallace Ann Wynn.
