Sherrill N. Milner

November 3, 1930 — March 12, 2013

A service to honor the life of Mr. Sherrill N. Milner will be 1 pm Friday, March 15, 2013 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis with Bro. Cyle Clayton and Bro. John Jarvis officiating. Interment will follow at Robeline Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Blanchard St. Denis and again on Friday from 11 am until service time. Mr. Milner passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Natchitoches. He was born November 3, 1930 in Port Arthur, TX to Mae Cart Milner and Austin Eric Milner. Mr. Milner was a graduate of McNeese State University and served in the United States Air Force. Most of his years were spent in California working in the computer industry in sales and marketing. He helped to start the magazine Psychology Today and owned a computer bureau that serviced Gourmet and Esquire magazines. After he retired from the computer industry, he relocated to Louisiana and sold cellular phones for Century-Tel, All-Tel and Verizon. He was a board member of Sabine State Bank, but since moving to Louisiana, his biggest love was volunteering for the Robeline Food Pantry, where he also served on the advisory board. He loved people and never met a stranger; his greatest joy was helping people. He was a devoted member of Rivers of Water Church in Robeline. Mr. Milner was an avid sports fan; he loved to watch football and loved playing tennis and bowling. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and a loyal friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Bert Anthony Jarvis. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of nearly 61 years, Betty Francis Milner; his children, Mark K. Milner and his wife Maria of Robeline, Paula K. Jarvis and her husband John of Robeline, Darryl K. Milner of Salem, OR; grandchildren, Angelique, Chandra and Matthew; great grandchildren, Kylee of Thousand Oaks, CA; brother, Marlyn Dwayne Milner of Houston, TX; and sister, Brynda Stephenson and her husband Nelson of New Llano; nieces and nephews, Jaymie, Dwight, David, Chris, Dylan, Michelle and Jamie The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Jack Fair, Dr. Dhawan and Dr. Menachi of Natchitoches Cancer Center, Synergy Home Health, Causey’s Pharmacy, Natchitoches Rehab Hospital, Natchitoches Community Care and Hospice of Natchitoches for their loving support and care during our time of need. Floral tributes and/or donations to a charity of your choice in Mr. Milner’s name are graciously being accepted by the family.
