Mary Joy Payne Angle passed away March 7, 2008 in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She died
of natural causes.
She was born to John William Payne and his wife, Nettie Gillen Payne in Natchitoches
on October 2, 1923. When both of her parents died before she was 12 years old, she was
adopted by her aunt, Julia Gillen Hall, and her husband, John Raymond Hall.
She attended Louisiana Normal College where she met her future husband, Perry C.
Angle, Jr. She was an accomplished musician, known for her talent at accompaniment
and composing. She played for the local Catholic and Episcopal churches for many years.
She is survived by her 3 children, Perry C. Angle, Ill, Jeannine Angle Dobbins and Ray
Hall Angle; their spouses, Sharyl Angle, David Dobbins, and Linda Angle, grandchildren
Michelle Lynn Angle Scarborough, Michael Perry Angle, Christopher Todd Angle, and
Melissa Nicole Angle; and great-granddaughters Genevieve Angle and Madeline Angle.
She was preceded in death by her husband and an infant daughter, Diane Angle.
A funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Lewis Skiar at 10:00 am, Friday, March 14,
2008; at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial at Memory Lawn Cemetery
will follow. Visitation will be at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home from 5 pm to 9 pm,
Thursday, March 13, 2008 with a 7:00 pm Rosary.
Pallbearers will be Michael Angle, Christopher Angle, Robert B. DeBlieux, Michael
Bowen, Tommy Vercher, and John Vercher.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Boudreaux and H.L. Milton of Baker, Louisiana; Bill
Payne of Ennis, Texas; and N.L. Vercher, George Grayson, and Larry Broadwater, all of Natchitoches.
