Norene Barrios

Funeral services for Bernita Norene Barrios will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, the 24th of March 2013 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Burial will follow in the Memory Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Norene, as she was affectionately know, age 75, passed away after a short illness on Friday, the 22nd of March 2013 at the Natchitoches Community Care facility. Norene was born in Centralia, Illinois on the 25th of September 1937 to Benjamin O. Brasket and Inzez M. Bouseman Brasket. Norene is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver A. Barrios; her parents; her sister, JoAnn Tullier; and her brother, Ronald Brasket. Norene is survived by her three sons, Mike Barrios and wife Cindy of Pollock, Chuck and wife Louise of Natchitoches, and Jerry and wife Mary of Olathe, Kansas. Norene also leaves behind her four grandchildren to cherish her memory: Allyssa, Hannah, Kamryn, and Brock. She is also survived by her brothers, Bud, Larry, Tommy and Kenny and her sisters Patty and Carol. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be James Barrios, Johnny Sherrill, Ronnie Brasket, Jr., T. L. Miller, Barry Strother, and Wilton Barrios. Honorary pallbearers will Buck Barrios and Kenny Kaufman.
