A mass of Christian burial for Sarahphine Coutee Rachal will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, the 9th of April 2013 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville with the Reverend Kenneth Obiekwe to serve as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Cloutierville Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Mrs. Rachal, age 95, passed away on Thursday morning the 4th of April 2013 in her home in Alexandria surrounded by her loving family. She was born on the 2nd of November 1917 to John and Rosine Coutee in Cloutierville. She worked as a homemaker raising her children and worked with the elderly in her community. She was member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville and was a member of the Altar Society.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jeffery Rachal; her parents, John and Rosine Coutee; her children, Ronald Rachal, John Pierre Rachal, and Allen A. Rachal; her grandchildren, Jason Suero, John Rachal, and Marcy R. Harris; her brothers, Lawrence, Phillip, and John Coutee; her sisters, Rosine “Dolly” Coutee.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Francis B. Rachal (Melissa) of Joliet, Illinois, Barbara Simmons of Cloutierville, Ruth Sylvie (Louis) of Edgewood, Texas, Ruby Jo Rachal of Coppell, Texas, Yvonne Beaudion of Gretna, Frank Rachal of Chicago, Illinois, Elaine Byon of Alexandria, Monica Click (Royce) of Kingwood, Texas, Judy Rachal (Herbert) of Alexandria, Andre Rachal (Theresa) of Alexandria, Chet “Ben” Rachal of Cloutierville; her sisters, Mary Rachal and Genevieve Barnes; her brother, Steven Coutee; she lived to see 5 generations of her family with a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all of her family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Rachal, Brandon Rachal, David Rachal, Pierre Rachal, Jacques Rachal, and Joseph Rachal.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Rachal, Clark Rachal, Jason Rachal, Marius Sylvie, Armand Sylvie, Joshua Sylvie, Noel Sylvie, Greg Beaudion, Pierre Rachal, and Edgar Byon.
