Robert Wade "Bobby" Pierson

Robert W. Pierson entered into eternal rest on April 24, 2013 at the age of 61. He was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Wade Pierson and his father, Joseph H. Pierson Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 39 years, Lynn Alost Pierson; one daughter, Sherri Pierson Ebarb and husband, Daniel of Missouri City, TX; one son, Brian David Pierson and wife, Shanna of Natchitoches; mother, Margaret Barnes Pierson of Natchitoches; brother, Joe H. Pierson, Jr. and wife, Pat of Natchitoches; two sisters, Ruth Pierson Cleland and husband, Terry of Lake Charles; Susan Pierson Berndt and husband, Barry of Beaumont, TX; grandchildren, Katherine Grace Pierson and Malachi Wade Pierson of Natchitoches; as well as a host of extended family. Mr. Pierson was a lifelong resident of Natchitoches. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northwestern State University in 1974. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve for 6 years and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1978. Mr. Pierson began his career in 1974 at First Federal Savings and Loan of Natchitoches. In 1979, he became co-owner of Cane River Supply (International Harvester Dealership). He returned to lending where he served as the Natchitoches Branch Manager of First South Production Credit from 1985 until 1987. Mr. Pierson then began a 26 year career with City Bank & Trust Company, where he eventually became a Senior Vice President. He completed the Graduate School of Banking of the South at LSU in 1993. Mr. Pierson served on the Board of Directors of City Bank from 1996 until 2001. He was active in various community organizations including: Treasurer of Natchitoches Area Jaycees, Vice-President of Cane River Kiwanis Club, and President of Natchitoches Area Wildlife and Fisheries. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and chaired numerous committees of Duck’s Unlimited. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Natchitoches and served on the Finance Committee and Board of Directors. Known as “Bobby”, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was a caring and generous person who spent his life helping others in need. City Bank always held a special place in his heart, and he was proud to be among the generations of Piersons at the bank. His co-workers and customers were important to him, and he took a personal interest in each of them. From the time he was a boy, Bobby loved to duck hunt with his dad and brother. Hunting was a passion that he shared with his own sons and later, with his son-in-law. Bobby enjoyed his life, and left many memories which will always be cherished by his family and friends. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27 at First United Methodist Church of Natchitoches. Visitation will be held Friday, April 26 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Crossroads of First United Methodist Church. Pallbearers for the service will be Mickey Hennigan, J.E. Pierson, Jr., Jay Alost, Joshua Alost, Josh Pierson, and Brian Mullens. Honorary Pallbearers will be the City Bank & Trust Company Board of Directors. Interment will follow in Memory Lawn Cemetery.
