Graveside services for Grace Larue Bullock Gentry will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, the 11th of May 2013 in the Ajax Cemetery with Reverend Tommy Rush to officiate.
Mrs. Gentry, age 92 of Natchitoches, passed away on Tuesday, the 7th of May 2013 in the Courtyard of Natchitoches. She was born on the 5th of December 1920 to Uber Sidney and Ella Susan Bullock in Ajax. She was a graduate of Louisiana Normal School (Northwestern) where she met and married Roy Birchfield Gentry. She was a dutiful homemaker, doting mother, loving wife and occasional substitute teacher. She was also a long time active member of First Baptist Church in Natchitoches and the Association for the Preservation of Historical Natchitoches.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roy of 57 years and her eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her two sons, Roy Birchfield Gentry, Jr. and wife Vicky and Hugh Garland Gentry; one brother, U.S. Bullock; her grandchildren, Jennifer Fallis and husband Keith, Roy Birchfield “Birch” Gentry III and wife Farrah, Cole Gentry and wife Christy, Cade Gentry, Leslie Ramirez and husband Rex, and Adam Gentry and wife Angelina; her great grandchildren, Millie Fallis, Leo Ramirez, Reuben Ramirez, Grace Elena Ramirez, and Isaias Ramirez.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Courtyard of Natchitoches, Hospice of Natchitoches, her devoted sitters, Jackie, Marie, Essie, Lyn, Dorothy, and Joyce and to Judy Wade and Marilyn Gentry for their love and support over the years.
In lieu of floral contributions, donations may be made the First Baptist Church of Natchitoches, Continuing Legacy Fund or to a charity of your choice.
