Donald M. Chance

A service to honor the life of Mr. Donald M. Chance will be 2 pm Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis with Bro. Michael Murray officiating. A private family committal will occur at a later date at Kisatchie Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Mr. Chance, 70 years of age, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 in Natchitoches. He was born on May 31, 1942 to Hersal Chance and Amanda Dowden Chance Betts in Leesville, LA. Donald was a loving husband and father who worked as a lineman foreman for 43 years and most recently as a corrections officer with the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office. He loved fishing and competed in the BASS circuit for several years. He will be dearly missed but always remembered by his family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Donna Chance of Natchitoches; son, Donald Chance, Jr. of Leesville; daughter, Dawn Chance Meadows and husband Danny of Earlysville, VA; brother, Paul Chance and wife Linda of Leesville; sister, Vicki Dwyer of Natchitoches; 2 grandchildren, Kristen Meadows and Jonathan Meadows and wife Rachel; and a nephew, Stephen Broderson and wife Lorilee. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gloria Fox; and a brother, Gerald Reed Chance.
