Freida Henson, 77 years of age, passed away May 25, 2013. She was born September 7, 1935 to the late Marcus Frell Rogers and Mildred Hood Rogers in Camden, AR. Freida was an active member of First Baptist Church in Natchitoches, LA since 1974 and was involved in Couples Two Sunday School class for many years. Through these years she dedicated her time in the nursery, Girls GA, the Bible school program, and singing in the choir, all of which she loved dearly.
She was an avid bowler and a Red Hat member. She volunteered her time as a pink lady at the Natchitoches Hospital and Nursing Homes for several years, with her husband by her side; and, believe it or not, she was truly an outstanding Dixie Youth Baseball coach as well. Freida lived for her family, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Aaron Gerome Henson; three daughters, Fonda, Rhonda, and Tina; and one son Roger and his wife Susan. She was blessed with eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Mildred Hood Rogers, who is at a youthful age of 102 years; two sisters, Bobby Sue and Mary Frances; one brother, Jimmy, and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marcus Frell Rogers, and one brother, Marcus Ellery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Bruce McCreary, Jack Serpas, Danny Robertson, Jason Mock, Robert Lee, Landon Jones, Buzz Hortman, and Gerald Andrews.
