Randall L. Rhodes

A service to honor the life of Randall L. Rhodes will be 10 am Monday, June 10, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Provencal with Bro. Kevin Taylor and Bro. Bruce Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at New Cedron Cemetery in Vowells Mill. The family will receive friends from 5 pm – 8 pm on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home and from 8:30 am until service time at the church on Monday. Randall Lee Rhodes, 63 years of age, passed away June 6, 2013. Randall was born January 23, 1950 to Curtis and Hattie Kay Rhodes in Natchitoches. He is a 1968 graduate of Provencal High. After graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from his service to his country, he worked construction for Brown & Root in Colorado and Texas. He worked as a maintenance supervisor and transferred to the Dolet Hills Mine in Armistead, where he eventually retired. He also served as a reserve Bossier Parish Sheriff’s deputy. He made his home in Provencal and was a long time member of the Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing with his dogs; Muffy and Jazz and playing his guitar. He was a loving son, brother, father, uncle and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Jolley Nash and his wife Jessica of Coushatta, Nicole Dove and her husband Mickey of Natchitoches, Jason Darnell and his wife Traci of Bossier City; and Christy Whiteside and her husband Bill of Haughton; eleven grandchildren, Chloe Nash, Gunner Nash, Asa Nash, Melody Dove, Tabitha Dove, Hunter Dove, Bayliegh Darnell, Sydneigh Darnell, Ashton Darnell, Hunter Whiteside, Haley Whiteside; sister, Connie Rachal of Flora; brother, Jared Rhodes and his wife Dian of Bonita Springs, FL; nephews and nieces, Kaylee Conlay, Donna Wink, Kimberlee Vancena, Shannon Rhodes, Angela Colosimo, Dylan Conlay and Gracie Conlay. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Hattie Rhodes; brother, Larry Rhodes and his brother in law, Don Rachal. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Shannon Rhodes, Bill Whiteside, Jason Darnell, Creston Conlay, Travis Rhodes and Lance Vancena. The family would like to extend gratitude to NRMC and Dr. Matta for their care of Randall.
