Funeral service for Edgar Raymond Jordan will be held at 2pm on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Bro. Bill Hudson and Bro. Stanley Clemons officiating. Interment will follow at Coldwater Baptist Church Cemetery in Hagewood, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Saturday, June 22nd at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Edgar Jordan, 79 years of age, passed away June 19, 2013. Edgar was born January 30, 1934 to the late Edgar and Emily Jordan Wyatt Ingram in Natchitoches, LA. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nelwyn Rose Jordan; halfsister, Wanda Wyatt Fisher; and halfbrothers, Jerry and Tommy Wyatt. He is survived by his son, Eddie Raymond Jordan and his wife Ashley; daughter, Denise Rene Jordan Solomon; halfsister, Carlene Wyatt; grandsons, Steven Michael Solomon, Taylor Aaron Jordan, and Zachary Adam Jordan; great grandson, Gavin Warrick Solomon. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree from Northwestern State University and worked as engineer specialist III for the Louisiana Department of Transportation. Always a hard worker, Edgar was quiet by nature but true to his word. If he said he would do it, it would be done. He was fair and equal to all and was always a tough dependable man. He loved reading, cooking for others and especially holding babies. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Mark Busby, Chris Busby, Eddie Perritt, Waymon Hamm, Zane Walker, and Richard Foshee, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Wyatt, Tommy Wyatt and Taylor Jordan.
