Vester H. Wilkerson

Funeral services for Vester H. Wilkerson will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. John Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on June 29, 2013 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Vester Wilkerson, 85 years of age, passed away June 27, 2013. Vester was born March 1, 1928 to the late Math Wilkerson and Leola Patch Wilkerson in Natchitoches, LA. Vester was a long time member and song leader of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church and a lifetime resident of Natchitoches, LA. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII and the Korean Conflict. Vester was a Mason and a Shriner, a member of the American Legion Post 10, and VFW Post 1962. He was a true gentleman, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy "Dot" Wilkerson of Natchitoches, LA; his son, Mark Wilkerson and his wife Ann of Natchitoches, LA; one grandson, Stephen Wilkerson and his wife Allison; one granddaughter, Ashley Flanagan and husband Brandon of Pineville, LA; two great grandchildren, James Flanagan and Lillian Wilkerson; and two brothers, Olan Wilkerson and his wife Myrtle of Natchitoches, LA and Arlie Wilkerson and his wife Pat of Oakdale, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathew H. Wilkerson and Leola Patch Wilkerson; three sisters; and four brothers. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Rodney Wilkerson, Phillip Wilkerson, Wade Wilkerson, Clint Wilkerson, Mike Hilton, and Jerry Hilton.
