Funeral services for Ruth Eulanee Prothro Parker will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Provencal United Methodist Church in Provencal, LA, with Rev. Ed Fenton officiating. Interment will follow at Provencal Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Eulanee Parker, 95 years of age, passed away August 4, 2013, in Lufkin, TX. She was born December 10, 1917 to the late William Pinkney Prothro and Ella Mae Cutright Prothro in Robeline, LA. Eulanee was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. She lived life to the fullest and as a member of Provencal United Methodist Church put her faith first in all things. She was a retired Postmaster in Provencal, LA and served two productive terms as Mayor. She lived a life of service to others and will be remembered, loved and dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by one daughter, Patsy Parker Nichols and husband James of Lufkin, TX; one brother John Prothro of Shreveport, LA; two daughters-in-law, Patricia Parker of Natchitoches, LA and Vonell Parker of Natchitoches, LA; six grandchildren, Melanie Robinson and husband Jared of Madison, MS, Myles Parker and wife Kay of Madison, MS, Jerrod Nichols and wife Teri of Zavalla, TX, Jason Nichols and wife Tracy of Diboll, TX, Stacy Porter and husband Tom of Washington, D.C., and Rance Parker and wife Michelle of Shreveport, LA; fifteen great grandchildren, Brittney, Hunter, Cristyn, Sawyer, and Holt Nichols; Josh Howell; Aimee Coleman; Barrett and Breland Parker and Tricia Nelson; Patton and Parker Robinson; John Wesley and Austin Hoare; and Brianna Parker; four great great grandchildren, Matson and Adrian Blair Nelson; and Zoie and Zander Coleman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hoyt Miles Parker; two sons, Adrian and William (Buddy) Parker; a sister Naomi Schumacher; and three brothers, Paul, Clyde W, and James (Pete) Prothro.
