Adelle Lee Flenniken

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Adelle Lee Flenniken will be held at 3 pm Sunday, August 11, 2013 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, with Rev. Ron Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until service time on Sunday. Mrs. Flenniken, 90 years of age, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at her home in Natchitoches. She was born March 16, 1923 to the late Richard Lee, Sr. and Agnes (Lay) Lee in Ashland, LA. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilbern T. Flenniken; a sister, Carolyn Lee; and a brother, Richard H. Lee, Jr. She was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church and was especially active in the senior adult program there. She retired as an officer and teller from Peoples Bank & Trust. She was an avid quilter and gardener, and received many compliments on the beautiful quilts, flowers and vegetables she produced. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Elizabeth Persons and her husband John of Natchitoches; grandsons, David Hilburn and Jeff Hilburn both of Texas; great grandchildren, Zachary Hilburn, Courtney Hilburn and Joshua Hilburn all of Bossier City; a sister, Sarah Price and her husband Glenn of Natchitoches; and a brother, Nolan Lee and his wife Georgia of Texas. The family would like to say a special thanks to Mamie Jones for her care, compassion and friendship given to Mother during the months of her final illness.
