A service to celebrate the life of Brandon Boyd will be 10 am Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clyde Miley officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Hagewood, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 10 pm Monday, August 12, 2013 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Mr. Boyd, age 25, passed away on Friday August 9, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. He was a native of Natchitoches and worked previously as a prison guard at Angola. Brandon had such a loving compassionate heart. Everyone he met became an instant friend. His passions in life were Hunting, Hanging out with family and friends, riding bulls, and restoring his truck with his Dad. He was a member of Red River Cowboy Church. Brandon’s disability empowered him to help others. He became the north Louisiana representative for Trinity Outdoors Disabled Adventures, a mission that is there to share the word of God through the outdoors. He loved hunting and the outdoors so much that he began Out the Boot Outdoors which allowed him to film outdoor hunts and adventures. The family would like to thank Dr. James Knecht for his excellent care for 25 years, Natchitoches Parish Hospital and Methodist Hospital of Houston, TX. He is survived by his mother and dad, Tina and Gene Knueppel of Natchitoches; father, Kavin Boyd and Donna Calhoun of Grand Isle; brothers, Caleb Boyd and Lyndon Knueppel both of Natchitoches; sister, Tori Cutrer of Baton Rouge; grandparents, Mary Lee and Scoot Holland of Provencal, Gary and Sue Knueppel of Natchitoches; a niece Addisyn Boyd of Natchitoches; aunts and uncles, Charlene and Trent Rogers, Peggy Morris and Fritz of Baton Rouge, Alice DeLacerda of Pineville, Clara and Junior Ezernack of Natchitoches, Joyce Washington and Leroy Jenkins of Monroe, Keith and Cathy Knueppel of Natchitoches; as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. He had special friends, they include: Brandi and Sandi Smith, Misty Saffel, Rebecca Messenger, Boc Caps, Melissa and Rod Lewis, and Antonio Esparza. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Brandon Grayson, John Grayson, Andrew Troquille, Antonio Esparza, Tra Phillips and Chase Humphreys. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Gallagher, Mitchell Blanchard, Tyler Griffith and Wade Stephens. His belief has always been Faith, Family and Friends.
