Leona Julia Amphion

Funeral services for Leona Julia Bennett Amphion will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with John Cain officiating. Interment will follow at Russell Cemetery in Montrose, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on August 15, 2013 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Leona Amphion, 71 years of age, passed away August 13, 2013. Leona was born July 2, 1942 to the late Edmond and  Virginia Bennett in Natchitoches, LA.  Leona was a colorful and fun loving person. She loved her family tremendously and enjoyed visiting with them and her friends at her family home in Montrose. She always greeted people with a smile and was always hospitable. Leona had a love for animals and enjoyed spending her time outdoors. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by one son, Beau Greer and wife Tracy of Alexandria, LA; one grandson, Dakota Greer of Alexandria, LA; two sisters, Virginia Vercher and husband Robert of Flora, LA and Mae Schoen and husband Henry of Foley, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dick Amphion; her parents, Edmond and Virginia Kerry Bennett; one son, "Brother" Greer; two sisters, Pearl McNery and Betty Jane Cain; and two brothers, Jimmy Bennett and Clyde Bennett. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Terry Bennett, Tony Bennett, Timmy Bennett, Cory Bennett, Cliff Vercher, and J.D. Bonds.
