Wayne Banes

A service to honor the life of Mr. Wayne Banes will be 2 pm Saturday, August 17, 2013 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fern Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 7 pm on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Blanchard St. Denis. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 pm on Friday. Mr. Banes, 73 years of age, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in Alexandria, LA. Wayne was born December 29, 1939 to Arthur and Rosa Lee Banes in Robeline, LA. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and worked as an insurance agent for over 30 years. Anyone that knew Wayne, knew of his love for the Chicago Cubs. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 17 years, Alice Banes; his children, Debbie Norman, Janet Banes, Traci Tynes, Shelia Hyde, Dianette Busbin, Rodney Sluss, James Sluss and Dawn Ponthieux; a sister, Doris Morvan; mother and father in law, Eleanor and Clarence Washer. He was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lee Banes and Rosa Lee (Jordan) Banes; and two sisters, Helen Cedars and Dorothy Crucioli.
