Kyle Whitten Buckley

Srgt. Kyle Whitten Buckley of the United States Army and native of Natchitoches was born April 20, 1985 at Barksdale Airforce base. His precious life ended Aug. 12, 2013 in Laramie, Wyo. Kyle was a native of Natchitoches and resided in Houston. Buckley proudly served in the United States Army from 2004-2011 in Iraq. He will forever be a Tomahawk. Buckley received the Medal of Valor, National Defense Medal, Global War on Terrorist Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and Expert Rifle Badge. He took his career in the army with great pride, service and dedication. Buckley graduated with honors at the University of Texas in Dallas where he earned a degree in internal political economics. He was working on his master’s to further his already intelligent mind. Kyle Buckley leaves behind a loving family, parents Eddie and Terri Buckley of Houston; sister, Tori Schwenke and husband Kenton; nephew, Gabriel; grandparents, Jim and Judy Whitten of Natchitoches; Jimmy and Paula Buckley of Natchitoches and Shirley Eiland of Shreveport; aunts, Debbie Whitten and Brandy Walker and husband Josh of Natchitoches; Christy Blackwell and family; Amy Castleberry and Monica Pettiette. Buckley also leaves behind cousins, friends and family. Service will take place at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10:00 am. Kyle will be laid to rest at Adams Cemetery in Kelly, also known as the Whitten Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home on Friday, August 16, 2013. Those serving as pall bearers will be Shane Burbank, Kyle Ysebaert, Sam Thomas, Ray Folger, Jeremy Abad, Isaiah Edwards, Eli Rich, Jared Fischer, and Andrew Palmer. Honorary pallbearers will be CPT Jared Wambaugh SFC Bill Micklus SFC Frank Cortez SFC Jojo Marcelo SSG Robby Batongtong SSG Mike Beaudion SGT Rodney Stanley CPL Alex Iglesias.
