Lucy Davis Flores

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Lucy (Davis) Flores will be 1 pm Saturday, August 24, 2013 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Spanish Lake, LA. Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 pm on Friday evening. Mrs. Lucy Flores, 80 years of age and a resident of Spanish Lake, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013. She was born February 6, 1933 to the late Johnny and Leola (Morvan) Davis in Robeline, LA. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther Flores; a brother, Julius Davis; and a sister, Johnnie Lee Bass. Being a devout Catholic lady and a Eucharist Minister, she tirelessly dedicated her time to assist with anything needing to be done at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. There was no limit to the assistance she provided the priest and parishioners of the church. She was also an active member of the Caddo Adai Indian Nation. She was a loving wife, mother and sibling and will be forever remembered by her family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Jeffrey Flores and Vincent Flores both of Robeline; her sisters, Eloise Wheeler of Mobile, AL, Pearl Etie of Natchitoches, Nellie Davis of Boerne, TX and Charlotte French of Marthaville; her brothers, Leon Davis of Keithville, Andrew Davis of Arcadia and Isadore Davis of Spring Dale, AR.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Ricky LaCaze, Duke Davis, Dewayne Chelette,Rufus Davis, Jay Kazen and Tim Severance.
