Funeral service for George M. Alexander will be held 1 PM Friday, May 2, 2008 in First Baptist Church of Natchitoches, La. with Rev. Tommy Rush and Rev. Lee Dickson officiating.
Burial will be in Memory Lawn Cemetery with full military graveside rites. Visitation will be Thursday, May 1, 2008 from 5 PM until 9 PM in Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home and on Friday, May 2, 2008 from 10:30 AM until service time in the First Baptist Church.
Mr. Alexander, 88, of Natchitoches, LA, died Monday, April 28, 2008, in his residence at Natchitoches, LA.
He was a native of Dubach, LA and Simsboro, LA. He was a retired Master Sergeant in U. S. Air Force with 21 years and was owner operator of A and B Radiator and Air Conditioner Service. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific Area. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was an ordained deacon. He was an avid hunter and fisherman
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ellen Havlik; one great grandchild, Colby Alexander Anderson; parents, Allen Levi Alexander and Mary Elizabeth Morris Alexander; three sisters, Mary Allen Miller, Daisy Fairbirn, Mildred Morehead; two brothers, his twin James Malvin Alexander and R. B. Alexander.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Myrtis Knotts Alexander of Natchitoches, La. one daughter, Gloria Jean Bailey of Tulsa, Ok., eight grandchildren, Kim Ford and husband John of Monroe, WA, Robin Anderson and husband John of Monroe, WA, Shelley Havlik of Issaquah, WA, Sandra Whittington and husband Matt of Renton, WA, Sheri Bell and husband Mike of Grand Prairie, TX, Bradley Touchet M. D. and wife Sarah of Alexandria, LA, Bryan Touchet M. D. and wife Karen of Tulsa, OK, and Jason Cox and wife Alanda of Tulsa, OK; eleven great grandchildren, Montana Rae Miller, Isabella Ford, Hunter Jerochim, Gregory Anderson, Connor Touchet, Lilliana Touchet, Alex Touchet, Benjamin Touchet, Katherine Touchet, Emily Touchet, and Gabriel Cox; one brother, Larmar Alexander and wife Nell of Baton Rouge, La.
Pallbearers will be Brad Touchet, Bryan Touchet, Jason Cox, David Kees, Dr. Charles A. Curtis, Jr., and Nobel Flenniken.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Senior Mens Adult Sunday School Class.
