Doris Carnahan LaCaze

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Doris Carnahan LaCaze will be 11 am Thursday, August 29, 2013 at The Holy Rosary Chapel (Emmanuel) in Chopin, LA with Rev. Dan O’Connor serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Wednesday, August 28th at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Recitation of The Rosary will be at 7 pm on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. LaCaze, 84 years of age and a long time resident of Chopin, passed away Monday, August 26th in Alexandria, LA. She was born December 19, 1928 to Adam and Jessie (McGlothlin) Carnahan in the Emmanuel Community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Joseph LaCaze. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Marlene LaCaze Palomo and her husband Freddy of Alexandria, Dennis LaCaze and his wife Sandra of Kinder, Kenneth LaCaze and his wife Stephanie of Pineville, Murray LaCaze and his wife Linda of Natchitoches, Darryl LaCaze and his wife Cindy of Pineville, Harold “Joey” LaCaze of Winnsboro, TX, an Patrick “Pat” LaCaze and his wife Renee’ of Marco; a sister, Vera Carnahan Mariner of Chopin; a brother, Caroll Carnahan and his wife Evelyn of Chopin. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren, Lisa, Blake, Beth, Bridgette, Cassie, Angie, Anthony, Chaston, Torren, Derek, Zane, Kenessa and D.J.; as well as 10 great grandchildren, Gavin, Gracie, Josh, Peyton, Brendyn, Haile, Aleena, Andrew, Jude and Austin; her in-laws, David LaCaze and his wife Patricia, Carroll F. LaCaze and his wife Willie, Richard Hall, Linda McCain and her husband Lynn, Thelma Coutee, and Clara Jones and Jerry; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Anthony Palomo, Blake LaCaze, Chaston LaCaze, Zane LaCaze, D.J. Dunn, Fritz Winke, Torren Davis, and Derek LaCaze. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Edwards, Donnie Spillman, Johnny Spillman, Ronnie Spillman, Billy Spillman, Jimmy Spillman, Dan Carnahan, Keith Carnahan and Adam Carnahan.
