Elve Wilkerson Cooper

Funeral service for Elve Wilkerson Cooper will be 10 AM Monday, May 5, 2008 in Oak Grove United Methodist Church with Dr. John Foster and Rev. J. D. McNeal officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery at Natchitoches, LA . Visitation will be Sunday, May 4, 2008 from 5 PM until 8 PM in the Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home and on Monday, May 5, 2008 from 9 AM until service time in the church. Mrs. Cooper, 93, of Natchitoches, La., died Friday, May 2, 2008, at Heritage Manor Rehabilitation and Retirement Center in Natchitoches, La. She was a native and lifelong resident of Natchitoches, La. She was a former laundry employee at Northwestern State University and lunchroom worker at St. Mary's High School. She was a very Christian lady and loved her church where she was a lifetime member of Oak Grove Methodist Church. While growing up she helped take care of her brothers and sisters. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved all of her family very much. She was a hard worker in her home and loved taking care of her flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin Cooper; son, Doyle Mervin Cooper; two sisters, Velma Jeter and Averl Wilkerson; three brothers, J. C. Wilkerson, Ora Wilkerson, and Elwood Wilkerson; parents, Matthew Wilkerson and Leola Patch Wilkerson. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Barbo and Diana Dykes both of Natchitoches, LA; two sons, Barney Cooper and Dale Cooper both of Natchitoches, LA; eight grandchildren, Billy Barbo, Douglas Barbo, Darryl Barbo, Timmy Barbo, Kim Reasor, Amber Ross, Alaina Taylor, and Zach Cooper; fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; four brothers, Otis Wilkerson, Vester Wilkerson, Olan Wilkerson all of Natchitoches, La. and Arlie Wilkerson of Oakdale, LA Pallbearers will be Zach Cooper, Doug Barbo, Darryl Barbo, Karl Reasor, Josh Ross, and Kevin Taylor, Jr.
